I didn't write it, but I could have.........

Now, here is my secret: I tell you with an openness of heart that I doubt I shall ever achieve again, so I pray that you are in a quiet room as you hear these words. My secret is that I need God, that I am sick and can no longer make it alone. I need God to help me give, because I no longer seem to be capable of giving; to help me be kind, as I no longer seem capable of kindness; to help me love, as I seem beyond being able to love."
~Douglas Coupland~

Sleep well my friends.

Tamales Galore

I got an idea this week.  Just a little one I thought, to help bring in a little extra "spending" money with the county fair coming next month and Christmas just around the corner.

Welllllll... everyone loves my tamales that I make at Christmas and for special occaisions, so I thought what the heck, the ladies at the mexican store sells them for a dollar a piece I might be able to get $5 for a bag of 6.  So I sent my husband to work on Monday with a cooler full of hot tamales and before first break was over I had made $90.  Not bad I thought for just a few hours worth of work.  Enjoyable work at that, I truly enjoy cooking for others.  (Now clean up is another story, but the cooking I love).  So anyways word got out and I  have made over three hundred and fifty tamales this week.  I so wish I had pictures to post, but my batteries on my digital are dead.

It is like art to me and today it was nice because my 10 year old daughter sat down with me and helped me by stuffing them and wrapping them after I pressed them out on the corn husks.  It was a pleasurable morning and we had good conversation and some pretty good giggles as we worked/played together.  I will post pictures on the next batch.  Hasta luego!

Painted Lady (No it's not Micheal Jackson)

painted lady

3:25 A.M.  Painting #2, and I'm going to bed.  "Night", or should I say, "Morning all?"

My very first painting.....

Sunflower

I couldn't sleep and I was having an urge to create, so I went to paint on my computer and made this little pic.  I dedicate it to my little brother, "bleuzeus".  Love you............

My "Sweet Baby J"

100_1113 This is my goddaughter Jacquelyn.  She came to visit a couple of weekends ago and I had picked up some things for her at a garage sale.  She wanted to try it all on.  She loves clothes, hats, heels, the whole shabang, she's all girl......

And here she is the next day eating a peach.  I was nearly positive she would have an aversion to the fuzzy skin, but boy was I wrong.   She ate it all!  100_1121

And later we went to the lake and she got to wear her "Scooby Doo" suit.
